FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
“How do you create your illustrations?”
I illustrate all of my linework on standard printer paper with a Uni-ball 0.7mm of 0.5mm fineliner, then scan the illustration into the computer for digital colouring in photoshop. I build up the illustration on-top of my scanned illustration, layer by layer. I don’t vectorise my work because I like keeping the original linework largely intact, holding onto the hand drawn aesthetic. I then print the final illustration onto archival stock and an illustration is born! I know there are faster ways of creating an illustration, but this is my way. This process has evolved gradually as my computer skills have developed, and I find it to be a lovely marriage of both hand drawn and digital techniques.
“Do you do this full-time?”
Nope. I work full time as an Art and Textiles teacher and freelance where time permits.

Tattoos - “I love your illustration <insert name of illustration here>! Do you mind if I get it tattooed?”
If you would like to get one of my pre-existing illustrations tattooed, that’s okay with me!
However, this is an opportunity to pay for the design and receive my permission to get my work tattooed on you. If you would like to support me as an artist, buying a tattoo ticket from my Etsy Store is a great way to do it.
*Due to my busy schedule I am not available for tattoo commissions.
